Q: Tell us about your wedding! What was the inspiration behind your day? Did you have a specific theme, style or color palette? Did you incorporate any cultural or religious traditions in any part of your day?

A: The groom and I were high school sweethearts. We battled every storm but love always wins so the theme of our wedding was a Classic Love Story. Our favorite colors burgundy, black & gold.  We wanted a traditional church wedding with separate reception.

Q: Let’s talk fashion. How did you both choose your wedding day look? Describe the looks in detail.

A: The groom is a fashionista, always on point.  It was important that we matched each other perfectly so I gave him a piece of fabric from my dress so that he could do his thing. Which by the way was also an ivory in color with a sparkle to it when I moved that complimented my shape. A cathedral veil was very important to have with a blinged out head piece to match.

Q: What were the florals like in your wedding? Did you use flowers in any of your design elements like the bridal bouquets, centerpieces or ceremony backdrop? Did they play an important part in the overall style of your wedding?

A: My favorite flower is roses all kinds. My then boyfriend/fiancé always bought me roses no matter the occasion. So from the church to the reception Ms. Renee Givens owner of Lush Florals made sure to incorporate my roses. I had all live flowers flown in from Central America & Holland. Bridal party held 6 stem roses while I carried a blinged out rose bouquet. Everyone from our parents to flower girls all carried roses. The reception hall was to die for with hydengias incorporated within some 6 ft arrangements, some 4ft down to simple petals on the table.

Q: Do you have any wedding planning or marriage advice that you’d like to share with other couples planning their day?

A: My advice is to pray without cease. There will always be something happening whether good or bad pray no matter what. Amazing things will happen if you keep God first and each other second.
