Q:Let’s start at the beginning. How did you two first meet?

A: Tamika and Kenny attended HS together, where Kenny was one year head of her. They later met at a mutual friends birthday cook-out. Tamika and Kenny talked on and off four or five years with no commitment. In December of 2015 they decided to make things official.

Q: What makes your relationship special? Tell us some things that you both value in your time together. (example: pushing each other to new limits, love to travel, huge comic book fans, foodies, etc.) What makes your relationship unique?

A: Tamika and Kenny are both very head strong individuals, which makes them the epitome of a great couple. They always challenge each other to be greater then the day before. They both share a strong interest in sports ” Go Redskins” and enjoy attending live sporting events. Beyond they love they share, they also enjoy trying new things. The biggest bond time for them after a long day is enjoying a nice cold adult beverage and taking in a little hookah to talk to each other about their day.

Q: How did you know your partner was the one? When did you first know this in your relationship? (these may often be the same moment, but aren’t always)

A: Tamika always knew Kenny was the one many years ago, but was afraid that once they got together it will be the end all to be all. Not only that, Tamika also knew she needed a man strong enough to handle her spoiled, yet strong personality, but gentle enough to care properly for her heart. As Kenny tells it, “he knew from the day the met”.

Q:Give us all the details about the proposal. How and where did it happen? Was it a surprise? What was the planning process?

A: The proposal location was the Union oyster bar and grill. The actual location was selected by Tamika. Unknown to her it was going to be the proposal night. Kenny purchased the proposal ring a month prior and had plans of proposing that weekend at a weekend get away that was planned a few days later. Upon going through many loops to finally getting the ring back from getting sized to her tiny finger, Kenny finally received the ring back the same day as the date night that Tamika set up. During the dinner the ring was basically burning a hole in his pocket and Kenny couldn’t hold off any longer. After we paid the tap Kenny ordered drinks and thought to himself this would be a great time to drop to that knee!

Q: We’re all about the bling… Tell us all about that ring!

A: Kenny had one rule from Tamika…..”DON’T get her a cluster ring” LOL! Tamika is rocking a beautiful center stone engagement ring, encrusted with diamonds that holds a beautiful sparkle at any angle.

Q: Are you excited to start planning your wedding day? Do you have any ideas in mind yet?

A: Tamika and Kenny began planning before the actual proposal took place. Needless to say we are excited. They have locked in a venue overlooking the water with a date set of 2.20.20. The wedding will be very elegnant as they have selected the colors of Black and White with a nice hint of red. The best photographer has been selected and all services paid for by a great friend of Tamika’s, the only thing left to secure is someone to keep them dancing all night and a florist that can ideas of the bride and groom to life.

Q: Is there anything else you like to add?

A:  The next step for Tamika and Kenny is to enjoy the road ahead. Take each moment as a life learning journey to grow stronger and take on this thing called “LIFE”!!
